Thérèse LeBlanc

Thérèse LeBlanc was appointed Regional Deputy Commissioner, Atlantic Region, in September 2008.

A native of Moncton, New Brunswick, and a graduate in criminology from the University of New Brunswick, Thérèse LeBlanc has been employed with corrections for over 30 years.  She has held positions across the country in community corrections, penitentiaries, Regional Headquarters as well as National Headquarters. 

Thérèse has been the Warden for both male and female institutions at all security levels (maximum, medium and minimum security), the Assistant Deputy Commissioner Operations for the Ontario Region, Executive Director of the Regional Psychiatric Treatment Center for Ontario, Assistant Deputy Commissioner Corporate Services Ontario, Deputy Commissioner for Women, and the Executive Director for the Commissioner of Corrections.

In 2006, Thérèse spent three weeks in Afghanistan assessing that country’s correctional system to determine what assistance CSC could provide to improve justice and correctional sector capabilities.
