Our Priorities

In response to requirements to manage a changing offender profile and contribute to public safety, CSC will focus on five strategic priorities:

• Safe transition of offenders into the community
• Safety and security for staff and offenders in our institutions
• Enhanced capacities to provide effective interventions for First Nations, Métis and Inuit offenders
• Improved capacities to address mental health needs of offenders
• Strengthening management practices:
  • Respond to the Public Service Employee Survey 2005
  • Promote values and ethics
  • Improve internal communications
  • Strengthening human resources management
