27. It is recommended that the orientation program for all new officers include a module on "Officer Norms", outlining its beneficial and detrimental aspects.

CSC'S RESPONSE:

This module will be developed in the fall of 1999 in conjunction with the review of CTP 2000.

Course content will include the following elements:

• Subculture and the individual officer
• Making tough decisions
• Tools for Moral decision-making
• Reputable Officers

These elements are emphasized in the book "Ethical Issues in Policing and Corrections, Reputable Conduct" authored by John R. Jones of Sir Sandford Fleming College.
