CSC'S RESPONSE:
Section 3 of the Corrections and Conditional Release Regulations requires all staff members to:
CSC's policy relating to the Code of Discipline includes the statement that a staff member has committed an infraction if he/she:
"fails to conform to, or to apply, any relevant legislation, Commissioner's Directive, Standing Order, or other duty as it relates to his or her duty".
The policy further emphasizes the responsibility of management to take prompt and appropriate action when infractions of the Code of Discipline occur.
CSC's Code of Discipline clearly outlines a variety of infractions for which staff members may be disciplined, and this document is distributed to, and signed as having being read, by all CSC staff members.
The Code of Discipline also specifies the types of disciplinary action, which may be taken if a staff member has committed an infraction. Included in these options are the measures identified in the recommendation.
