5. CSC maintain an IERT on 24-hour standby in all medium and maximum security institutions. During lockdowns, the IERT should be on site.

CSC'S RESPONSE:

All maximum and medium security institutions within CSC have established Institutional/Regional Emergency Response Teams (IERTs). Officers who work on these teams are available for recall to the institution 24 hours a day.

The maintaining of an IERT on-site during every lock-down situation is an option that a Warden has, depending on the circumstances of the situation. It is not practical to make it a mandatory practice in all cases.
