CSC'S RESPONSE:
At present, CACs are encouraged to prepare an Annual Report based on the past year's activities. The requirement for an Annual Report for each CAC will be included in a revised Resource Manual for Citizen Advisory Committees together with guidelines for the completion of the report.
The present distribution of the CAC Annual Report is to the Warden, the Regional Deputy Commissioner and the Director General, Public Participation and Consultation. The distribution will be expanded to include the Correctional Investigator and the community agencies and individuals involved in public policy relating to community safety and prisoner rehabilitation.
CSC will amend the Resource Manual by the Fall of 1999, to include a specific requirement to produce an Annual Report together with guidelines for completion and distribution.
