It was with pride that Roger Dessureault received a certificate of recognition from Pierre Allard, Assistant Commissioner, Community Engagement Sector, for his exceptional contribution to citizens' advisory committees (CAC).

Mr. Dessureault has been a member of Donnacona Institution's CAC in the Quebec region for nearly ten years now. This father of three and grandfather of three has long been associated with volunteering in his community. Whether acting as president of a banking institution, secretary at a golf club, or director of any number of different associations, volunteering is part of his life. As he says so often, "Volunteering is important and always appreciated."

As for his contribution to the citizens' advisory committee, Mr. Dessureault is a committed man, be it with the grievance committee, through his visits to inmate committees, his participation in various activities or investigations, and as an observer. He is always ready and happy to answer the call. He often says, "Being a member of the CAC at Donnacona is satisfying. With management's cooperation, we work with respect for everybody. Confidence reigns."

Mr. Dessureault is currently representing the CAC at the monthly meetings of the Correspondence and Visit Group, which plays an important role in the inmate population by organizing activities stress human values. This group of volunteers appreciates his contribution - determination and participation in problem solving.

Offender reintegration is of great importance to Mr. Dessureault. In his opinion, the community must be well informed in order to better cooperate.

Our sincere congratulations, Mr. Dessureault! May you have many more years with the CAC!end
