Pacific Region libraries were pleased to host a poster session at the Canadian Library Association and British Columbia Library Association conference held in Victoria, June 16-19. Entitled Diamonds In the Rough: Library Values Behind Bars, the session addressed the application of the public library model in a secure setting. The presentation highlighted how Pacific Region library policies address professional library practices of access, respect and privacy.
During the poster session the attending library staff answered questions from library professionals and trustees in a variety of fields. Interested visitors asked to see more about prison libraries at future conferences.
