Open House Breakfast at CORCAN

By Lucienne Thibault, Operations Manager, CORCAN, Drummond Institution

CORCAN opened its doors to Drummond Institution staff members as part of Public Service Week. The theme for this breakfast was entitled With a Smile for Good Communication.

As staff members arrived at the institution, they were given a CORCAN coupon, good for one muffin and a coffee.

Staff members gathered around the cutting table of Textiles I where they were given an interesting trimming knife demonstration.

A handful of promotional products were also on display at the table: shoe bags, wine bottle bags - all these products made out of scrap material. In the background are overviews of the production workshop and the layout of work stations for producing jeans.

Under the supervision of an instructor, inmate inspectors conduct a final inspection of the finished products before packaging. That was the last stop, and the visitors cashed in their muffin/coffee coupons.
