Total Long Term Offenders: Includes all offenders serving life or indeterminate sentences plus those serving determinate aggregate sentences of ten (10) years or more
Life: Includes Life, Life Commuted, Life Minimum, Life Maximum
Indeterminate sentence: Includes Habitual Criminal, Dangerous Offender, Dangerous Sex Offender, Lieutenant Governor Warrant, Preventive Detention Order
Offender Current Status code in OMS was used to determine whether offender is in institution or community.
Deported offenders were eliminated from data reported.
Community: Supervised, Parole Suspended, Parole Suspended Unlawfully-At-Large
Institution: Incarcerated, Sentence Interrupted, Parole Revoked, Revoked Unlawfully-At-Large *, Bail*, Escape*
Security Classification: classification assigned to offender.
* These types of offender status were counted in institutional population, however, they together account for 120 offenders out of a total of 7,000 and do not influence the population breakdown.
