1. To conduct research in support of correctional policies and practices that reduce reoffending.

4. Research will meet the standards of the appropriate professional and scientific bodies in relation to ethical considerations, methodology and scientific rigour.

8. Staff members, at all levels of the Service, shall facilitate the researcher's access to CSC facilities and information and provide other support, as required.

10. The Deputy Commissioner for Women must approve any research proposals that involve women offenders.
11. There shall be no medical experimentation unless it is approved under the Corrections and Conditional Release Act.
