COMMISSIONER’S DIRECTIVE (CD) 785 - RESTORATIVE OPPORTUNITIES PROGRAM AND VICTIM-OFFENDER MEDIATION SERVICES

What has changed?

A decision was recently made that all directives requiring the Commissioner's signature, regardless of the legislation or policy upon which they are based, will be Commissioner's Directives. As such, this policy has now been converted into a Commissioner's Directive.

Three additional technical amendments have also been made:

• the extent of confidentiality of victim-offender mediation services has been clarified in paragraph 11, to correspond with paragraph 6c;
• the Cross-References section in Annex A has been updated; and
• the definition of "victim" in Annex A has been removed, and instead a hyperlink to the CCRA section 2 has been inserted at the first occurrence of the word "victim" in the directive.
