The Correctional Service of Canada (CSC) is pleased to announce that it is accepting nominations for the 2009 Pierre Allard Award. This award was established in 2006 in honour of Reverend Doctor Pierre Allard, former CSC Assistant Commissioner, for his outstanding commitment and leadership in the field of restorative justice and community engagement.
The award is presented annually to a former federal offender who meets the following criteria:
The recipient will be announced at the Pierre Allard Award Ceremony. Time and venue to be determined.

1. The Nomination Form.
2. A Nomination Letter, providing an overview of the individual being nominated; a synopsis of the conviction and federal sentence served; and information about how the nominee is living a new life in line with the criteria.
3. Three Letters of Reference, attesting to the character/values that have contributed to successful reintegration of the nominee - that convey the nominee’s achievements as they relate to the award criteria. Please note that the letters of reference should not come from nominee(s) or their family members. Consideration should be given to how the individual has:
4. A photo of the nominee (which is used in a presentation of all nominees at the Pierre Allard Award Ceremony, not for selection purposes).
