Healing The Relationship Between Federally Sentenced Women And Communities

Recommendations

• The Inter-faith Committee on Chaplaincy’s (IFC) Standing Committee on Women’s Spirituality should oversee a pilot project with 2 FSW in each of the 5 regions. One FSW as close as possible to her time of sentencing in her "home" community, and one incarcerated FSW preparing for eventual release.

• Each region would experience the process and evaluate local resources.

• Resources be given to IFC to establish and train regional voluntary advisory networks. These networks would be helped to prepare for the planning and communication skills required. The IFC would also need resources to supervise, mentor, monitor and chronicle developments in all justice circles in their region.

• Establishment of National Advisory Committee to assess and review process.
