Women's Corrections
Recruitment
CSC employees work with women offenders in a variety of positions, including on the front lines as Primary Workers or Kimisinaws (at the Okimaw Ohci Healing Lodge) or in the development of policies and guiding operations. All staff working in a regional women's facility receive Women-Centred Training, in order to be sensitive to issues that face federally sentenced women and be responsive to their needs.
Employees who work with women offenders and women offender issues are vital in fulfilling CSC’s mandate. This mandate is to enhance public safety by actively encouraging and assisting women to become law-abiding citizens while exercising reasonable, safe, secure and humane control.
