Atlantic Region

The Atlantic Region consists of four provinces: Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island and Newfoundland and Labrador. The region operates four institutions for male offenders and one institution for women offenders.

 

Quebec Region

The Quebec Region operates 11 institutions for male offenders and one institution for women offenders.

 

Ontario Region

The Ontario Region is responsible for 11 institutions for male offenders and one institution for women offenders. Included in the male institutions is the Regional Treatment Centre. With the exception of the Beaver Creek/Fenbrook complex, Warkworth Institution and Grand Valley Institution for Women, all are located in the Kingston area.

 

Prairie Region

The Prairie Region consists of the provinces of Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Alberta and Northwestern Ontario as well as the Northwest Territories. Within the region, there are 15 institutions (13 for men and two for women). Included among those institutions is the Regional Psychiatric Centre, which provides acute psychiatric care for both male and female offenders in the region.

Pacific Region

The Pacific Region consists of the province of British Columbia and the Yukon Territory. There are nine institutions in the Pacific Region, of which eight house male offenders while one houses women offenders.
