Hello Everyone,

Community Justice Initiatives of Waterloo Region have planned an exciting line-up of events during 2008 National Restorative Justice Week from November 16 to 23, 2008 in Kitchener , Ontario.

On Wednesday, November 19, academics and restorative justice practitioners are invited to a preconference sponsored by the University of Waterloo called Love, Hate, Trust and Forgiveness.

In the evening, celebrate Canadians who have contributed to the development of restorative justice in our country at the Ron Wiebe Award Banquet . During the program, respected Canadian journalist, lawyer, and television host, Paula Todd, will interview people who have experienced a restorative justice process.

Thursday, November 20 attend the National Conference on Restorative Justice entitled Us,Them, We . Through workshops and discussions, explore what it means to foster a restorative justice worldview and apply restorative justice principles in a variety of contexts.

After dinner, attend a wine and cheese reception and view the interactive, Canadian Film Late Fragment. Audience members make choices as to how the story unfolds in this multi-plot, non-linear film about three strangers who are drawn together as participants in a restorative justice process. Engage in a post-film discussion with Late Fragment actors, directors and/or writers as well as fellow audience members.

Friday, November 21 network with other rj practitioners as you discuss how to bring life to new ideas you have been exposed to at the Restorative Justice Praxis Breakfast.
