Writing a submission for the Restorative Justice Week 2010 Resource Kit

All submissions must be received by June 27th, 2010
CRITERIA
- An original written creation that is not copied from another source unless appropriately cited and accompanied by written permissions for republication
- One Page (no more than 800 words)
- Please avoid profanities or sexually explicit content
- Authors should strive to make a linkage in the text to the theme for Restorative Justice Week 2010 – “Reflexions Past, Present and Future”

- Ensure that each individual referred to in the recounting of a particular experience has given their permission
- If any names have been changed to protect an individual’s identity, please use a fictitious first name only that cannot be associated to your story, and ensure this is done prior to submission
- If you do not want your name published, you must communicate this in a cover note and provide us with your contact information in case we have questions or need clarification on the text
- We reserve the right to make any changes to a submission for grammatical and formatting purposes, however final approval will remain with the author of the submission
- Your submission must include a short biography (no more than 80 words) for the cover of the resource kit
Examples of Biographies:
Jim Cooley has been a police officer with the RCMP for almost 20 years now. The last 5, as the Program Director for Restorative Justice in British Columbia, Crime Prevention and Community Program Support Services (CP&CSS). Jim received trainer training in Family Group Conferencing, which the RCMP changed to Community Justice Forums (CJF), and is now the lead train-the-trainer and active facilitator for CJF throughout Canada.
Sarah Chandler coordinates the Lillooet Restorative Justice Program. She is also a facilitator and human rights educator, working for the Equitas International Centre for Human Rights Education, Montreal, http://www.equitas.org and as an independent consultant. She holds an MA in Understanding and Securing Human Rights from the University of London (UK).
