Restorative justice is an approach to justice that focuses on addressing the harm caused by crime and meeting the needs of those involved. In essence, restorative justice processes provide opportunities for safe and voluntary dialogue between victims, offenders, and communities.

Restorative Opportunities Program (victim-offender mediation)

Restorative Opportunities program is a post-sentence, victim-offender mediation program offered by CSC across Canada. It gives people harmed by crime an opportunity to communicate with the offender who harmed them. On average, CSC receives 150 requests for victim-offender mediation services annually.

Restorative Justice Week

Restorative Justice Week is recognized every year during the third week of November to acknowledge the impacts and achievements of the restorative justice approach and its application in Canada.
