Health and safety

In the interest of the health and safety of the public, our employees, inmates, and their families, CSC has suspended offender visits from the public in all federal institutions.

Publication of the Correctional Service of Canada Asbestos Inventory

In the interest of transparency and openness on government operations, on September 23, 2016, Public Services and Procurement Canada (PSPC) published a list of buildings it owns and leases and has identified those that contain asbestos.

At CSC, the health, safety and security of our employees, building occupants and visitors is very important to us.

We are working with PSPC to diligently manage the risks associated with asbestos in our buildings, in strict accordance with legislative requirements for Health and safety.

Consult CSC’s Asbestos Inventory to find out whether there is a known presence of asbestos in a building owned by CSC.

PSPC’s National Asbestos Inventory has information on any CSC offices for which PSPC is responsible through ownership or leases.
