Employment and Employability Skills Training

CORCAN provides Employment and Employability Skills Training to offenders in four business lines: Manufacturing, Textiles, Construction and Services. Its goal is to ensure that offenders have the skills and training required to obtain and maintain employment when they return to the community. This is done through on-the-job and third-party certified vocational training while offenders are incarcerated in federal institutions, and for brief periods of time, after they are released into the community. This section highlights how CORCAN prepares offenders for the workplace with training in the institution, community, and classroom.
