Why was the policy changed?

CD 566-5 – Non-Security Escorts was revised following a Board of Investigation recommendation where the level of supervision during non-security escorts created ambiguity to the policy.

What is new/changed?

The non-security escorts will now be conducted following a new procedure. The only level of supervision required while on a non-security escort will now be close supervision.

How was it developed?

These policy changes were developed by the Security Branch in consultation with Executive Committee members, institutional staff and Strategic Policy.

Accountability?

All CSC management and staff are responsible to ensure compliance.

Who will be affected by the policy?

All institutional managers and staff involved in security escorts.

Expected cost?

None.
