Interim Policy Bulletin
Requirement for Parole Officers to complete a comprehensive file review for offenders on their caseload
The purpose of this Policy Bulletin is to modify paragraph 10 of CD 700 – Correctional Interventions in order to specify that Parole Officers must complete comprehensive file reviews and remain familiar with an offender’s history and specific circumstances.
This responsibility was specified in previous versions of CD 700 and CD 715-1 – Community Supervision (formerly entitled Community Transition and Post-Release Assessment). It was not included in the versions published in June 2012 as it is considered a task inherent to the role of a Parole Officer.
In order to highlight the requirement for Parole Officers to complete a comprehensive file review for offenders on their caseload, this responsibility has been returned to CD 700 – Correctional Interventions.
