What has changed?

The above mentioned Commissioner's Directive has been amended in order to clarify the security level requirements for men and women's minimum security institutions; clustered institutions as well as CSC operated Healing Lodges. As well, the required supervision level and the behavioural norms expected of inmates, based on the security level were also clarified.

Annex B has also been revised to reflect the change in name from Portsmouth CCC to Henry Trail CCC, as well as the Maximum Unit at Stony Mountain Institution. The reference to Regional Treatment Centres has also been clarified in the Atlantic, Quebec and Pacific regions.

How was this policy developed?

These amendments result from discussions held between the Security Branch and the Institutional Reintegration Operations Division, in collaboration with the Strategic Policy Division.

Who is affected by these changes?

All CSC employees involved in the oversight and supervision of offenders.

Expected cost?

None anticipated.
