Why was the policy changed?

This revised Internal Services Directive (ISD) has been amended to modify a sampling parameter listed in Annex D Influent and Effluent Characterization.

What has changed?

The parameter Total Coliform has been replaced by Fecal Coliform and the abbreviation T. coli has been replaced by F. coli.

How was it developed?

The ISD was amended by National Headquarters Environmental Protection Division, in consultation with the Strategic Policy Division.

Accountabilities?

The Environmental Protection Division is responsible for communicating the changes to regional and institutional staff whose responsibilities involve the management of wastewater and wastewater treatment systems at the institutions.

Who will be affected by the policy?

The Environmental Protection Division’s Environmental Engineering Project Officer and regional and institutional staff whose responsibilities involve the operation and management of wastewater collection and wastewater treatment systems at the institutions.

Expected cost?

There will be no costs associated with this amendment on the laboratory analyses of effluent samples.
