Why was the policy changed?

Commissioner’s Directive 750 has been amended to reflect technical changes to clarify the authority for the Assistant Commissioner, Correctional Operations and Programs, to develop applicable Guidelines relating to the provision of religious services to inmates.

As well, the text under the heading Religious and Spiritual Practices was removed in order to simply refer to the Guidelines 750-1 – Inmate Religious Accommodation.

Finally, the application was extended to staff, contractors and volunteers responsible for chaplaincy services.

How was it developed?

This Commissioner’s Directive was amended by the Chaplaincy Section of the Reintegration Services Division jointly with Strategic Policy.

All staff, contractors and volunteers responsible for chaplaincy services.
