5. Performance standards: The Access to information Act stipulates that requests must be answered within 30 days, unless time extensions are warranted as per section 9 of the Act. The performance standard for Correctional Service Canada is that a response to Access to Information Act requests be responded to within the legislated time frames, including extensions where warranted.

6. Performance results: In fiscal year 2014-2015, CSC received 555 formal access requests and had 182 requests outstanding from fiscal year 2013-2014 for a total of 737 requests. There were 117 requests processed past the legislated timeframe. The compliance rate for fiscal year 2014-2015 was 77.4%.
