Restorative Justice Week

CSC has been an active partner in the restorative justice (RJ) community for more than a decade and has been proud to provide leadership to RJ Week since 1996. #RJWeek. In previous years, CSC called upon municipalities across Canada to proclaim the third week of November as RJ Week to acknowledge the impacts and achievements of the RJ approach and its application in the traditional criminal justice system. This year, CSC challenges you to initiate the proclamation process by using the tools available on our website and contacting the city council in your municipality.
Consider the following ideas to take action as leaders in your community:
- Proclaim RJ Week;
- Host a virtual town hall meeting to promote an awareness of how RJ is expressed in their community;
- Challenge community partners to create a local planning committee for RJ Week activities;
- Invite a guest speaker from your community, who is involved in RJ, to share their perspectives.
